Privacy Policy

A plain-language account of the information Outshelf needs, the AI and infrastructure providers involved, and the controls available to you.

Who operates Outshelf

Outshelf is developed and operated by MimesisIQ LLC. This Privacy Policy applies to the Outshelf mobile app, web app, marketing website, and related support communications.

Information we collect

  • Account information. Your email address, account identifier, plan, credit balance, and account-creation date. Outshelf uses passwordless sign-in; it does not store an account password.
  • Your workspace content. Product identifiers you enter or scan, idea descriptions, interview messages, structured briefs, screens, synthetic-panel profiles and responses, concepts, generated images, and launch materials.
  • Purchase information. Product identifiers, transaction identifiers, entitlement status, and the credits or subscription access granted to your account. Apple processes App Store payment details; MimesisIQ LLC does not receive your complete card number.
  • Technical information. A strictly necessary session cookie, request timestamps, IP address and basic device or browser details contained in ordinary hosting, security, and diagnostic logs.
  • Support communications. Information you choose to send when you request help, report a problem, or make a privacy request.

Camera and barcode scanning

Camera access is used only when you choose the barcode scanner. Camera frames are decoded on your device and are not uploaded to Outshelf. The resulting barcode value may be sent to Outshelf and a product-data provider to resolve the product.

How we use information

  • Provide passwordless sign-in, account access, credit metering, purchases, receipts, and support.
  • Research the product or idea you submit, generate and rank concepts, create mockups, field the synthetic study, and preserve your results.
  • Secure, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve Outshelf; prevent abuse; and comply with legal obligations.
  • Communicate material service, policy, billing, or account information. Outshelf does not use your email for unrelated marketing without permission.

AI and service providers

Outshelf sends the relevant part of a request to providers that perform a specific function. These include Anthropic for the product consultant, concept generation, and synthetic-audience work; Google Gemini for product and packaging images; Rainforest API and UPCitemdb for product listings, reviews, and barcode lookup; and Apify for optional public social-trend signals. Outshelf does not send your account email to an AI model as part of ordinary generation.

Infrastructure providers include Render for application hosting and storage, Resend for transactional email, and Apple for App Store purchases. Providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments and receive only the information reasonably needed for their role.

Ideas, descriptions, and other text you submit may contain personal or confidential information. Do not submit information you do not have permission to share. Outshelf does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Synthetic audiences

Synthetic panelists are AI-generated research profiles, not real people. Outshelf creates and locks the panel before the concepts are presented, stores a fingerprinted roster, and records one response per member. The study is directional and must not be treated as a claim that real consumers were surveyed.

Retention and deletion

Workspace content is generally kept while your account remains active so you can return to prior screens and results. Session and security information is retained only as reasonably necessary for operation, troubleshooting, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.

You can delete your account from Billing → Account → Delete account. This removes your account, workspace content, generated images stored by Outshelf, panel artifacts, ledger, and remaining credits from active systems. Limited transaction, tax, security, or backup records may remain where required by law or until ordinary backups expire. Deleting an Outshelf account does not cancel an Apple subscription; cancel it separately in your App Store account settings.

Your privacy choices

You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information, or object to certain processing, by emailing support@outshelf.app with “Outshelf Privacy Request” in the subject. We may need to verify the request. Rights vary by location and some information may be retained when legally permitted or required.

Security, international processing, and children

Outshelf uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no service can promise absolute security. Providers may process information in the United States or other countries where they operate.

Outshelf is a product-development tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. Contact us if you believe a child provided personal information.
